Hello, I'm Mrs. Wade. I am an 8th grade math teacher at Snow Canyon Middle School. I've been married for twenty five years to my husband Mark, and we have four children.
I graduated from Brigham Young Universtiy in 1979 with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education with a math emphasis. I taught school in the Jordan School District from 1979 to 1986--3rd grade for three years and 7th grade for four. In 1986 I got married and moved to Casper, Wyoming where I taught 6th grade in the Natrona County School District. After one year in Wyoming my husband and I came back to Salt Lake City where I taught two more years in Jordan School District--one in 6th and one in 7th grade.
At this time I received my endorsements in English, reading and Social Studies. After ten years of teaching I then took a seventeen year break to have children and raise them as a stay at home mother.
I decided to go back to teaching in 2010. That year I took the place of a math teacher, who took an early retirement because of health issues, at Lava Ridge Intermediate School here is Washington County School District. At this time I decided to go back to school and continue my education by completing the Math Level II endorsement. For the past two years I have been attending Dixie State College full/part time to complete all that has been required for that endorsement.
The 2011/2012 school year will by my first full year back in the school systems in 19 years. I am excited to be here and feel very fortunate to be in this area. All of my children have gone to Snow Canyon Middle School and so I know what a wonderful place it is. I am looking forward to a great year.
